Fact : The art of Masamune Shirow- creator of some of the most popular hit manga- Apple Seed, Dominion Police, Mario-M66 and Ghost in the Shell has always been an inspiration to me ever since 1990!
When LIONSGATE noticed I was a huge fan of the Ghost in the Shell, anime/manga property , we had a long conversation and BOOM! I was rewarded the 25th Anniversary Commemorative Steelcase commission!
So much went into this commission that unfortunately due to NDA contracts- I'm prohibited from the Studio to share with you any unapproved concepts.
BUT here are the actual final vectors - Created using Adobe Illustrator + ZbyHP Z4 workstation + Z Dreamcolor Display + WACOM Intuous pro.
The one challenging issue when having to create and represent a character from a long running pop-culture series is to create the tribute poster like no has ever done before.
With Ghost in the Shell, I wanted to do something
new, Iconic and functional!

So I designed the packaging to represent the Ghost in the Shell- with the outer functioning protective sleeve art,superimposed over the the more mechanical-bioroid version of Motoko Kusanagi.
